THE PIGs From Forest to Spotlight

THE PIG Hotels are celebrating having been crowned Hotel Group of the Year at  the AA Hospitality Awards 2022. Close to 1,000 hospitality professionals gathered in central London on 26th September for the AA Hospitality Awards, hosted by Gabby Logan.

Tom Ross, Managing Director of THE PIG Hotels said: "We are delighted to have won such a prestigious industry award.  It is great to see hotel groups like THE PIGs being recognised and our teams, who have helped to make THE PIGs what they are today, really appreciate the recognition."

Simon Numphud, Managing Director, AA Media, commented: “It was great to be back at Grosvenor House after three years and to celebrate the greatest hospitality establishments across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The past few years have been incredibly tough for the hospitality sector, from lockdowns to travel restrictions, supply chain issues to the rising cost of living, but these awards have highlighted how our industry, time and time again, has worked tirelessly to overcome adversity and create unforgettable experiences for the public.”

THE PIG group is a personal collection of small lifestyle restaurants with rooms where the focus is on authenticity and informality of design, food and service.  There are currently eight in the drift or drove (the collective noun for pigs), including two in Hampshire: the original THE PIG in the New Forest and THE PIG in the Wall in Southampton.

The focus for the group has always been to celebrate the seasons with a focus on home grown and local produce, and using only the best, freshest and most authentic foods and ingredients. Everything is driven by the kitchen gardener/forager and chef. What cannot be grown in THE PIGs' kitchen gardens is sourced within a 25-mile radius of each hotel.
