Pothecary Gin Flies the Flag for British Spirits in Serbia
Martin and Nicole Jennings, owners of award-winning Pothecary Gin, have been flying the flag for British spirits in Serbia. They were invited to represent Britain, along with Hattingley Valley Wines, on the British Serbian Ambassador stand at Wine Vision Open Balkan 2023 in Serbia. This prestigious event has become recognised as the fourth-largest wine fair in Europe. The invitation, extended by the British Serbian Chamber of Commerce, highlighted Pothecary Gin's position as a prominent player in the high-quality British drink production sector.
Pothecary Gin and Hattingley Valley Wines were also served at the opening cocktail party for the Wine Vision Fair, held at the British Embassy where Edward Ferguson, the British Ambassador to Serbia, expressed appreciation for this award-winning gin. The Ambassador also tasted Pothecary Gin at the exhibition stand, and commented on the flavour and organic quality of the gin. A few days later the Ambassador gifted a bottle of Pothecary Gin Original to Serbia’s Minister of Trade Tomislav Momirovic at their introductory meeting. This commendation not only underscored the brand's quality, but also opened doors to further opportunities and recognition on an international scale.
As the four-day exhibition unfolded, the outcomes were met with a sense of cautious optimism. Martin and Nicole Jennings engaged with a distributor, laying the groundwork for potential collaborations that could amplify their reach in new markets. Discussions were also held for corporate gifting with a UK and Serbia commercial and industrial equipment supplier, and one of the sponsors of the British Serbian Chamber of Commerce stand. A nice touch as the organic juniper in Pothecary Gins comes from Serbia.
Martin and Nicole commented that they were very honoured and very proud of their involvement. The initial responses and promising connections have also signalled a positive trajectory for Pothecary Gin in the ever-evolving landscape of the global drinks industry.
