Lovely Local at New Forest Show

Lovely Local at New Forest Show

The Local Produce Area with producer stalls, food to go and chefs' kitchen was, once again, a highlight of the New Forest Show. The Hampshire Fare team were kept busy handing out Discover Local Produce guides, registering lots of interest in the competitions to win local, and enjoying lots of chat about local food and drink.

Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager, Hampshire Fare, commented: “The New Forest Show had a lovely feel about it this year! The weather wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t wet (during the day). It was perfect weather - giving producers the chance to showcase lots of local produce to everyone who visited. All three days were busy and vibrant with lots of sales in the Local Produce Market area.

“The Chefs’ Theatre was really well attended with a great line up of chefs creating menus using local produce - including James Golding of THE PIG, Matt Whitfield from Kimbridge Barn, Andrew Gault from Balmer Lawn Hotel, Phil Yeomans from Lainston House and Martin Dawkins, aka The Rustic Chef.

“The Hampshire Fare stand had a bit of a show-stopper: a six foot sparkly hare to raise awareness of our Hampshire Food Festival charity partner, The Murray Parish Trus. It certainly attracted many comments, and our Hampshire Fare face-in-the-hole board was very popular, too.”

Please support our fundraiser for The Murray Parish Trust and one very lucky person will win the ultimate Hampshire hamper in our 'Give & Guess' competition: link HERE.
