Wine Festival puts Hampshire wine producers on the map

A group of six award-winning English wine producers have joined forces to present the Vineyards of Hampshire Wine Festival which takes place on Sunday 13th July as part of the Hampshire Food Festival.

The event, a celebration of Hampshire’s finest wines, will be set amongst the picturesque vineyards of Jenkyn Place on the North Hampshire Downs, between Alton and Farnham, off the A31.

Visitors will be able to taste some of Hampshire’s top sparkling and still wines in a relaxed, informal setting. Winemakers and other representatives from all of the vineyards involved – Cottonworth, Danebury Vineyards, Jenkyn Place, Hambledon, Hattingley Valley and Meonhill – will be on hand to talk about their wines and Simon Bladon, who lives on the estate and his daughter, Camilla, will be offering guided tours of the vineyards at Jenkyn Place and Hugh Liddell from Cottonworth will be doing a series of winemaking talks throughout the day, offering people an insight into the grape to glass process.

There will be a free prize draw on the day with the chance to win an exclusive hamper of English wines from all six producers, together with a selection of Hampshire produce.

Guests will be also be able to taste a delicious range of Hampshire produce including organic pork pies from Jake’s Artisan Pies, a selection of Hampshire charcuterie from Parsonage Farm and gourmet marshmallows from Belinda Clark Gourmet Confectionery, amongst others.

Arblaster & Clarke, the world’s leading wine tours operator, will be also be exhibiting.

Talented local singer and songwriter, Martha Paton, will add to the relaxed atmosphere with her melodic vocals and guitar. Martha is performing at Jenkyn Place as part of her ‘Martha’s Vineyard Tour’ to promote her new EP.

The Festival has the full support of Hampshire Fare, organisers of the award-winning Hampshire Food Festival which showcases local food, drink and farming throughout the month of July. All of the wine producers involved are Hampshire Fare members.
