Winchester Distillery releases limited edition Spring Meadow Gin
This week not only heralds a welcome return of the sun in the South of England but also to Winchester Distillery’s seasonal release, Spring Meadow Gin. Rich in juniper and made with fresh hand-picked cherry blossom from Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Mrs. B’s Borage Honey and other locally sourced botanicals such as elderflower, lavender and coriander seed, it is a bright, floral gin that works well with tonic and plenty of ice to toast the arrival of longer sunnier days.
Spring Meadow Gin is now available to purchase for £36.95 per 700ml bottle directly via the Winchester Distillery online shop: www.winchesterdistillery.co.uk/collections/all/products/spring-meadow-gin and from all good independent retailers across the region.
While stocks last, Spring Meadow Gin will also be available to enjoy at a range of fine establishments throughout Hampshire and can be sampled and purchased at the following events:
Saturday 21st April Emsworth Farmers Market
Sunday 22nd April Fleet Farmers Market
Saturday 28th April Ringwood Farmers Market

Head Distiller and Founder of Winchester Distillery, Paul Bowler comments: “We were delighted to be given permission to pick the cherry blossom at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens again this year. Assistant Distiller Dom and I hand-picked the blossom last week then after removing the stalks, macerated the petals overnight in a low ABV spirit to release the wonderful flavours and aromas.
“This year we are also distilling our Spring Meadow Gin using Mrs. B’s Borage Honey, which will enrich the mouthfeel and floral notes of the gin. Mrs. B’s is a local family business of beekeepers with 200 hives across Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex and they only harvest honey that is surplus to the bees' requirements.”
The next seasonal small batch gin from Winchester Distillery, Summer Garden, is planned to launch in June and will be created using unusual varietals of strawberries and blueberries sourced from a New Forest grower.
