What's in season:June
June is Wimbledon and garden parties and, of course, strawberries and cream. Juicy, sweet and aromatic, these fruits make the perfect easy summer dessert - Eton mess. All you need to do to make this classic favourite is fold pureed strawberries into whipped cream with broken meringue pieces. Top with a few strawberry halves and a sprig of mint and serve.
If you’re feeling energetic pick your own, from somewhere like Durleighmarsh Farm. Or even buy them ready jammed and serve on scones for a teatime treat – try the likes of Hampshire Jam & Chutney Company, MoMo’s Homemade Artisan Preserves or The Real Jam & Chutney Company for summer in a jar.
