Wallops Wood Cottages hosted Hampshire Fare pop-up restaurant
As part of the 25th anniversary Hampshire Fare Food Festival, Wallops Wood Cottages hosted a pop-up restaurant in Teal, one of their award-winning self-catering cottages. Tim Tussler of T.A.S.T.E. Dining Company and his team produced and delicious menu of seasonal, local produce and Janine Pert of Discover Wines selected, supplied and served matching wines.
After canapes and a glass of Hambledon Classic Cuvee from the vineyards just 2 miles from the cottages, guests from Winchester, Waterlooville, Southampton, Droxford, Lee-on-the-Solent as well as Soberton, Swanmore and Meonstoke, sat at one long table down the length of open-plan cottage.
The five cottages, which sleep 6-8 people, enjoy stunning views across the Meon Valley to the Isle of Wight from their elevated position on a hillside in the South Downs National Park. Up to 34 people can stay at any one time and we can provide meals for the fridge or book a personal chef making them an ideal place for groups to stay and celebrate together.
Andrew Graham, co-owner of the cottages said: “We’re delighted that this sell-out event has been such a success. Katherine and I very much enjoyed welcoming the guests for a chance to see the cottages for themselves. There were clean plates, empty glasses and a fabulous buzz of conversation. ”
Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager of Hampshire Fare said: “It is super to see members collaborating in this 25th anniversary food festival event. Bringing independent producers, suppliers and distributors together is what Hampshire Fare is all about and this pop-up restaurant is an excellent example of how effective that networking can be for everyone involved.”
