Ultimate Hamper Competition in Aid of Murray Parish Trust

Ultimate Hamper Competition in Aid of Murray Parish Trust

Hampshire Fare have held a special dinner, provided and hosted by Quob Park Estate, to launch the Ultimate Hampshire Hamper Competition in aid of the Murray Parish Trust.

Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager, Hampshire Fare, said: “This is the first time Hampshire Fare has partnered with a charity to work on a long term fundraising project. However, we think the timing is right to support an organisation driving forward children’s healthcare across the region beyond what is possible through NHS funding.”

David Collinson, Trustee, the Murray Parish Trust, commented: “It was a privilege to attend the launch of Hampshire Fare’s Wishing Hare Competition at Quob Park Estate. We had a fabulous evening, benefitting from the incredible generosity of Rob Terry and the Quob Park Estate team. At the Murray Parish Trust we are incredibly grateful to both Hampshire Fare and the Quob Park Estate for supporting our vital work to help critically ill children in the South of England."

This Wishing Hare Competition in support of the Trust will run for ten months with the ultimate Hampshire Hamper heaped full of Hampshire Fare members’ produce and experiences as a prize. Entrants have to guess how many tiles have been used to decorate the Wishing Hare, owned by David and Nadine Collinson, trustee and ambassador respectively with the Trust, and donate £5 per guess to the Murray Parish Trust. Many Hampshire Fare members have already donated items to the hamper, such as bottles of Hampshire fizz, cider, gin, apple juices, rum, dinner for two voucher, brownies, shortbreads and artisan soaps.

Rob Terry, Founder and Chairman, Quob Park Estate, added: “We were pleased to show our support for this fundraising initiative between Hampshire Fare and the Murray Parish Trust by hosting this special evening. Like the other businesses at the dinner, we consider it very important to support our local communities, and what is more important than the health and welfare of our children?”

Tracy Nash reflected: “The launch event and the fundraising initiative is a great example of how local businesses come together for the good of their local communities. The idea was instigated by David Collinson when he mentioned to me that he would like to get more out of the Hare that he had purchased as part of last year’s Hares of Hampshire art trail, to raise further funds for the Trust. I came up with the idea of counting the tiles for a fundraising competition, however it is Hampshire Fare’s members, friends, partners and supporters who have really got behind this project and are driving it forward. I would like to thank them all.

“An example of this is Hampshire Fare’s Corporate Partner Southern Co-op showing their support to this cause by making a donation of £500 towards the total we hope to raise. With this level of support and commitment from the local business community and Hampshire Fare’s followers, we may exceed the target of £10,000 for the Wishing Hare Give & Guess competition!”
