Tuck into a nine course seasonal sensation

Tuck into a nine course seasonal sensation

On Friday 28th April, Executive Chef/Owner Martin Aslin of KEATS Restaurant, Ampfield (just outside Romsey), will host a nine course tasting menu event.

Like many good restaurants, great menus centre on cutting edge techniques and an abundance of quality locally sourced produce. The Tasting Menu will showcase new and established local providers, with equal measures of fish, meat, vegetables and fruit taking centre stage. Dishes such as Beetroot Macaroons with Creamed Goats Cheese, Pan Fried Curry Spiced Monkfish, Roasted Cauliflower, Pak Choi & Coriander, Carpaccio of Beef, Treviso, Walnuts & Gorgonzola and St Clements Sorbet are all set to star.

Dishes curated for the tasting menu come from KEATS catering arm, which serves weddings and events.  Chef Martin Aslin says “Last year, we had glowing, positive feedback from particular dishes we served at weddings and events. So much so, that I wanted to present those dishes in the restaurant. I’m also keen to showcase local suppliers and producers who consistently deliver fantastic, fresh, delicious produce.”

It takes an accomplished chef to understand how to coax the flavour and character of an ingredient. Martin’s dishes on the tasting menu show detail lavished on every component on intricate plates such as cured Test Trout, Gin & Cucumber Jelly, Pumpernickel Crumb, Sour Cream & Samphire, Cinnamon Donuts, Passion Fruit Jam, Berry Sauce and Honey Panna Cotta, Rhubarb, Granola Crumb.

Fine dining in a comfortable atmosphere is what Keats Restaurant is all about.

The 9-course tasting menu, Friday 28th April 2017 will cost £65 per person. It is recommended you book a table www.keatsrestaurant.co.uk call 01794 368252.
