River Test Distillery Highly Commended in Great British Food Awards
The River Test Distillery has been awarded Highly Commended in The Great British Food Awards 2022 for their London Dry Gin.
This is a significant achievement. Out of a total of 44 gins entered only 12 were shortlisted by the Great British Food Awards panel and sent to judging. From these 12, one overall winner was selected with just two awarded Highly Commended, including River Test London Dry gin.
Sarah Nelson of River Test Distillery was particularly pleased with judge Olly Smith’s comments. He said: “True River Spirit is how this is marketed, and it’s spot on. A wonderfully smooth and pure gin that is so impressive and easy to sip. Presented in a beautiful bottle with a green fleck that conjures the verdant clarity of the River Test, it’s a fabulous concept and a very appealing, piercingly dry gin.
"The aroma is lime-zesty and botanicals soar across the palate with filigree aromatics. This gin has a classy long-lasting flavour with good complexity and brightness; purity is most definitely the watchword. Great in a martini and works a charm in a G&T too.
"Expect complex and invigorating flavours that last noticeably longer than in other gins. A brilliant all-rounder."
