Raising Our Spirits

Gorilla Spirits Co, an artisan distillery in the north east corner of Hampshire, has switched production from craft spirits to hand sanitiser in response to the national shortage.

Andy Daniels, founder, explained: "We prioritised supplying our first batch to local GP surgeries and front line workers, and we’ve now expanded production to make it available directly to our customers, as well as other sectors that need it most.

The hand sanitiser is made according to a World Health Organisation approved formula, designed to kill 99.9% of germs. It can be used whenever there is an absence of soap and water. Each 250ml bottle comes complete with an atomiser. The formula contains ethyl alcohol (min 70%), hydrogen peroxide, water and glycerine.

Gorilla Spirits Co was established by Andy Daniels as a company with social responsibility, an awareness of our impact on the world and an interest in finding ways to make a positive contribution. Last year Gorilla Spirits won a Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Award in recognition for its work to protect the gorilla population with £1 from the sale of every bottle going to The Gorilla Foundation. A great example of a local business with environmental and social awareness.

Support local; stay safe; eat healthily; drink responsibly.
