Pass the wasabi

Pass the wasabi

Traditionally grown in Japan, wasabi is now successfully being cultivated in Hampshire. The first crop was developed by The Watercress Company after a visiting chef from Japan commented on the similarity between the way watercress and wasabi are grown. The crop benefits from the supply of mineral rich spring water found in Hampshire.

Wasabi has been linked to number of health benefits including a reduced risk of cancer and heart disease. It has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties for joints and muscles. It helps to defend against bacterial infections in the body and mouth and can reduce the effects of seasonal allergies. It is high in vitamin C and antioxidants as well as being low in cholesterol.*

You can buy fresh, powered and even grow your own wasabi from The Wasabi Company. Browse and order online.
