Masterchef’s Gregg Wallace has taken a liking to local confectionery maker Belinda Clark’s marshmallows.

In his Side Dish column in the Daily Mail on Saturday 3rd May, Gregg wrote:
‘Beautifully light and fluffy, these marshmallows from Belinda Clark are an absolute delight. Flavours range from a deliciously indulgent Salted Caramel to fruity ones such as Mango and Passion Fruit, made with purees that give them a lovely tang’.

Belinda Clark has a passion for creating surprising and delicious confectionery.  A lifelong interest in gourmet food and a sweet tooth led Belinda to trying out a recipe for raspberry marshmallows – which she was totally blown away by. So much so that she gave up her Project Management job in August 2013 to set up a business making gourmet marshmallows.

‘I make all my marshmallows by hand using only  the highest quality ingredients such as fruit purees, essential oils and Belgian chocolate to make marshmallows like you have never tasted before. I love experimenting with new flavours – I made a mean Gin and Tonic marshmallow the other day that tasted amazing!’

The business has gone from strength to strength in a very short space of time, and Belinda now supplies a wide range of farm shops, delis and cafes from the Isle of Skye to Devon, and some high profile customers such as Fortnum & Mason and Riverford Farm Shops.

‘Fortnum & Mason chose us from over 20 other marshmallow suppliers because we offered the best combination of taste and texture – I am very proud to count them amongst my customers. I like to think, as Greg Wallace and John Torode might say, that marshmallows don’t get better than this.’

The company are currently running a competition to win a whole year’s supply of gourmet marshmallows. Visit www.belindaclark.co.uk for more information.
