Make it a local tipple this Christmas
Whether you are hosting a party this festive season or need a gift to give your host think local when it comes to choosing your drinks this Christmas.
Hampshire boasts a vast number of breweries and vineyards so we really are spoilt when it comes to choosing our drinks. We have become recognised as one of the country's leading sparkling wine regions. Look out for wines from these local vineyards; Cottonworth Wines, Danebury Vineyards, Hambledon Vineyard, Jenkyn Place Vineyard, Setley Ridge Vineyard, Somborne Valley Vineyards and Wickham Vineyards. You can buy online from many of the vineyards and their wines are stocked in local independent stores.
Many local breweries have produced special Christmas beers which are available to try in local pubs and to buy from independent shops and the breweries themselves. If you are hosting a large party you could even arrange a keg. Local breweries include Alfred's Brewery, Andwell Brewing Company, Bowman Ales, Flack Manor Brewery, Irving & Co Brewers Ltd, Itchen Valley Brewery, Suthwyk Ales, Triple FFF Brewing, Upham Brewery and Vibrant Forest Brewery.
You can even make a local cocktail, add a dash of Kea or Damson Wessex Wild Plum liqueur to a glass of Hampshire sparkling wine. Or try Hill Farm Juice Apple and Ginger Juice served warm with Winter Pimms.
Many local breweries and vineyards also offer tours and gift vouchers, a great Christmas gift.
