Learn from top chefs at 'Taste of Hampshire' event

This Saturday top chefs will show off their talents at Hampshire Food Festival event, 'Taste of Hampshire' at Sparsholt College, 11am-5pm.

Local producers and chefs will gather in the college's Library Gardens for an event which will celebrate Hampshire produce with tastings, cooking demonstrations and more.

Executive Chef, Luke Matthews from New Forest hotel, Chewton Glen will cook in the purpose-built marquee demonstration kitchen. Andy Mackenzie from Lainston House Hotel and Jim Hayward from Ideal Collection will also take to the culinary stage to show off their talents.

As if this was not enough to tempt food lovers, the afternoon will see the final of the 'Fuller's Hampshire Dish of the Year Competition'. After battling it out in the heats the pubs to make it through to the final are; Bat & Ball in Waterlooville, Jolly Farmer in Alton, Oak Inn in Bank, Old House at Home in Havant, Pilgrim Inn in Marchwood and Red Lion in Chalton.

Chefs from these pubs will take part in the cook-off final of the competition and you are invited to watch and discover how they use local ingredients in their cooking.

Whilst this is all going on there will also be more than 25 local producers offering you the chance to sample and buy local produce. If the sight of all this food makes you peckish there will be food to available to buy for lunch.

So come along and make a day of it in the sunshine. Learn from top chefs and discover local produce. There will also be plenty to keep the family entertained with cake decorating and juice tasting for children.
