Laverstoke Park Releases Latest Vintage

Hampshire's Laverstoke Park Farm is proud to be releasing its 2013 Vintage Brut and Vintage Rose Brut sparkling wines. Both wines are biodynamic and organic and are made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes grown on the farm's 9 hectar vineyard.

After the success of the vineyard's 2010 Vintage Brut Reserve, which achieved a gold medal at the Independent English Wine Awards, the are high hopes for the latest release. Jody Scheckter, farm and vineyard owner, commented: "We truly believe that our 2013 bubbly is going to be even better than our award-winning 2010 release. Here at Laverstoke we believe in quality over quantity, each year producing Limited Edition, Vintage sparkling wines that reflect the true terroir of our biodynamic site.  We believe healthy soil gives healthy vines, helping our wine to taste fantastic. We take pride in working hand in hand with nature to bring out the best in our bottle fermented bubbly."

The vineyard's white 2013 Vintage Brut is made from a blend of Pinot Noir (80%), Pinot Meunier (2%) and Chardonnay (18%); this wine was given a long, four year yeast age before disgorging. It is yellow/gold in colour, with an aroma that is complexed by a long yeast age, showing hints of brioche, vanilla and buttered toast. On the palate it has a full, long flavour and a lingering, crisp brut finish. The Laverstoke Park 2013 Vintage Rose Brut has a bright, pink/red hue, an aroma with both red fruits and yeast age complexity and a palate that is full, long and finishes crisp and dry.
