Island Spirit Comes Ashore at Southampton Airport
Isle of Wight Distillery’s Mermaid Gin is now available to purchase from World Duty Free and stocked in Southampton Airport. Mermaid Merchelle assisted at the recent launch offering tasters to travellers at the airport, which is already proving to be one of the airport’s bestselling local spirits.
Southampton Airport welcomes over two million passengers through its doors each year, making this the highest profile retail outlet for Mermaid Gin and a major retail opportunity. The World Duty Free Group is the overall market leader in European airport retail and also has a substantial presence in the Middle East, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Mermaid Gin uses an infusion of carefully selected botanicals including juniper berries, rock samphire handpicked from the Island’s chalk cliffs and Boadicea hops grown at Ventnor Botanic Garden (Britain's hottest garden), creating a refreshing, slightly sweet, peppery gin with a hint of citrus that captures the true Island spirit.
