Hampshire’s talented producers are eager to share their skills and knowledge so that we can all have a better understanding of local food and drink.

During July’s Hampshire Food Festival there is an opportunity to gain and improve a spectrum of skills from butchery to jam-making. Courses will take place at locations across the county and some are even free.

On Thursday 12th July from 10am-4pm, Chocolate Craft near Alresford will be hosting an open day where you will able to watch chocolate demonstrations, taste the creations and for a small extra charge make a decorate a lolly.

Take your taste buds to exotic places with Lemon & Soul Cookery School on Wednesday 4th July at 6.30pm. Their Thai Masterclass will involve making and eating a delicious curry and dim sum. For those keen to up the veg in their diet, try a Riverford Veg Masterclass at Norton Farm.

The Good Life Farm Shop near Winchester is buzzing about bees. Join them on Thursday 5th July at 7pm to discover more about bee keeping and mead making, £10 per person including welcome drink and canapés.

Local culinary legend, Andy Mackenzie, is ready to guide you through ‘A Taste of Hampshire Fare’ cookery course at SEASON Cookery School at Lainston House Hotel on Saturday 28th July, 9.30am-4.30pm. Create dishes bursting with local flavours and sample your own handiwork. 

On Tuesday 10th July, The Kitchen at Chewton Glen is holding a Taste of Hampshire Cookery Class featuring produce from their favourite local suppliers, 10am-2pm.

Discover what goes into your favourite tipple with one of the many brewery, vineyard and distillery tours on offer in July. Wine-themed masterclasses will also be taking place at the Vineyards of Hampshire Wine Festival on Sunday 22nd July. On Sunday 1st July, the talented Corner 53 will be at Cabinet Rooms to share their tips for making the very best Red Snapper (like a Bloody Mary but with gin!), just £10, 12pm-2.30pm.
