Great British Menu Winner Launches Hampshire Cookery School

James Durrant, Chef Patron of the award-winning Plough Inn in Hampshire, BBC 2’s Great British Menu (2014) main course winner and currently ranked fourth in the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK, has launched a new cookery school with a chef’s table and private dining facility. James’ Kitchen Table is set in the pretty gardens of The Plough Inn in the bucolic Test Valley, Hampshire.

James has designed and is personally hosting a range of cookery classes in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art yet quirky kitchen. These friendly and informal classes are aimed at small groups of domestic cooks of all abilities. The classes are designed to help students develop an awareness of what is possible to achieve in the average home kitchen and to learn new shopping, cooking and presentational skills. Cookery classes are hands-on where students in small groups will be taught to cook and present dishes based upon a range of recipes prepared by James. Demonstrations are also available.

James is a champion of Hampshire produce, ingredients and suppliers and is “Visit Hampshire” Food Tourism Ambassador, a role which sees him highlighting Hampshire’s credentials as a top food destination. In the role James celebrates the best dining experiences, talent, suppliers and growers that Hampshire has to offer in a bid to boost tourism to the county.

For an exclusive experience, James’s Kitchen Table also offers a Chef’s Table where James will personally cook an evening dinner party for up to eight to ten guests.
