Getting Kids Cooking
Owton’s Traditional Family Butchers in partnership with Fuller’s Family Restaurants are holding the final of their Young Cooks Competition at Eastleigh College's Red Carpet Restaurant on 7th March with the finalists preparing their entries for the judges and a presentation to the winner. Young Cooks 2015 is a competition designed to give young children the ability to show off and demonstrate their cooking skills. The judges are looking for creative and imaginative dishes using, where possible, UK grown produce.
The competition is open to children aged 8 and under and 9 to 12. The winner in each age group wins £75 and the associated school wins £400. Plus there are other great prizes including Young Cook Aprons, Chef Hats and Fullers Chefs jackets for the ‘Cook Off’ finalist, lunch for a family of four worth £200, and Pudding Masterclass for a family of four. All entries receive a participation certificate and the best recipes will be promoted on Owton’s website.
