Extraordinary (Un)Ordinary

Hampshire start-up (Un)Ordinary launches Barista Oat Drink. Hurray! You can now make the perfect cup of coffee with a local Barista Oat Drink made in Hampshire from local oats.

(Un)Ordinary is a new start-up, founded by Hampshire farmers George Rees and Jacek Walterowicz. The idea of creating their own oat milk was born at harvest time, two years ago.

Jacek Walterowicz remembers: “We were processing the oats, which we use to make oat milk at home, and thought we grow plenty of oats on the farm why not create our own fully sustainable oat drink?”

Made from 100% British oats, (Un)Ordinary puts great emphasis on the provenance of the oats to make sure the drink is as sustainable as possible. This is why (Un)Ordinary have partnered with SIG (a frontrunner in sustainable packaging) and launched the product in a carton bottle combidome. This unique packaging offers the highly practical features of a bottle while being 100% plant-based and fully recyclable.

(Un)Ordinary Barista Oat Drink was created to pair perfectly with coffee. It complements any roast, without compromising the taste, adding a little bit of sweetness and freshness to the brew. When steamed, the Barista Oat Drink produces a smooth, consistent microfoam and adds the perfect texture to any espresso. Although the product was designed for professional baristas, it has a wide range of applications in the kitchen. (Un)Ordinary Barista Oat Drink is also excellent for cooking, baking and everyday use.

George Rees adds: “We are very excited to launch our (Un)Ordinary Barista Oat Drink. Oat milk consumption is still growing with consumers keenly aware of the health and environmental benefits of plant-based alternatives. For these reasons more people are choosing locally produced, British products. We are certain (Un)Ordinary will meet these expectations.”

(Un)Ordinary Barista Oat Drink is currently available to purchase directly through the company’s website (unorderinaryoats.com). Barista Oat Drink is the first product in the (Un)Ordinary portfolio. The company aims to develop new oat and exciting oat-based products in the future.
