Digging for Success
Ideal Collection, an independent group of bars and restaurants in Hampshire, has renewed its Corporate Partnership with Hampshire Fare. The occasion was marked with a visit by Hampshire Fare to the Community Roots’ allotment project, an award-winning local initiative supported by Ideal Collection along with Southampton Voluntary Services (SVS).
Daniel Turner of Ideal Collection and Tracy Nash and Mike Wright of Hampshire Fare took the opportunity to find out more about this ground-breaking scheme while preparing the ground for the continuing growth of this productive collaboration between the two organisations.
Daniel Turner commented: “Central to Ideal Collection’s business philosophy is a determination to be successful, yet distinctive, while remaining at the heart of the community. Our work helping local charities and our support of local food producers and Hampshire Fare is central to that ethos.
“We never lose sight of the fact that as a thriving business it is important to give back to the community, create opportunities for young people and forge strong links with local organisations.”
Tracy Nash added: “It’s great to see a hospitality business putting so much back into the community. We are very impressed by ideal Collection’s involvement with Community Roots – an allotment scheme which offers those in need in the community the opportunity to gain work experience, develop skills, socialise, work as a team and build self-esteem. As Hampshire’s county food group, we understand the importance and the pleasure derived from growing, cooking and eating fresh produce. Community Roots is a great scheme and we are very pleased to work with businesses that are so community-minded.
“On a more personal note, we also appreciate the fact that Ideal Collection’s bar and restaurant, No 5 Bridge Street, seems to have become our unofficial Winchester meeting room!”
Mike Wright said: “At Hampshire Fare we value Ideal Collection’s support and we are very pleased to be continuing what we consider to be a very productive and mutually supportive collaboration, particularly as so many of Ideal Collection’s objectives and principles chime with our own.”
