Berry Bros & Rudd pledges support for Hampshire's food and drink scene
Basingstoke is home to a well-kept secret destination for wine lovers, Britain’s original wine and spirits merchant, Berry Bros. & Rudd. It was established over 300 years ago on St James’s Street in London but also has a Hampshire base near the centre of Basingstoke.
The Hampshire site is home to state-of-the-art storage facilities and a Warehouse Shop where regular food and drink events are held involving Hampshire producers. Eager to further support the local food community Berry Bros. & Rudd has pledged to work with Hampshire Fare, as a Corporate Friend.
Stephanie Barlow from Berry Bros. & Rudd commented on the alliance: “Hampshire Fare is integral to the county’s producers. It brings together so many elements of the local food community and we are excited to have the opportunity to get involved with the group and support their work. We are committed to involving Hampshire’s food producers in our Warehouse Shop and enjoy pairing local flavours with our vast range of quality wines.”
The Warehouse Shop offers reductions of up to 30 percent on bin-end wines and case discounts are available on full price bottles. Customers who appreciate a quality wine at a fair price will enjoy discovering all that the shop has to offer. There are regular events from walk-around tastings, tutored tastings to food and wine masterclasses.
Michael Wright from Hampshire Fare spoke of the new sponsorship: “We are thrilled to be working closely with Berry Bros. & Rudd and pleased that such a well-established and respected organisation can see the value of Hampshire Fare to the county’s food community. Berry Bros & Rudd has already given many of our producers the opportunity to showcase their food and drink and we look forward to working together going forward to find yet more synergy in what we offer.”
