Award winning new vintage release from RAIMES English Sparkling
The latest release from RAIMES is a Blanc de Noirs, a white fizz made from the red grapes Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Owner of the family run business, Augusta Raimes explains: "The 2014 Blanc de Noirs is made from our grapes harvested by hand in October 2014 and bottle fermented in the traditional method, spending 24 months on the lees which lends the wine more depth and complexity. Floral, red apples and a hint of almond on the nose, fine bubbles, more red apples on the palate and a little redcurrant leading to a zingy finish of citrus that carries to a good length. It is a lovely, fresh and well balanced, stylish sparkling wine".
This elegant 2014 Blanc de Noirs has already won a bronze medal in the UKVA Wine of the Year Awards by a judging panel headed by Oz Clark and Susie Barrie. Another much deserved medal to add to the four won for their first wine which scooped awards at international level, and quickly sold out. "We were overwhelmed by the incredible response to our maiden release last autumn, we are so pleased to be able to follow it up with this award winning new vintage”.
This year will also see the release of their Classic Reserve a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier at the end of the autumn.
The RAIMES team will be offering a taste of their delicious wine at Vineyards of Hampshire's 5th Annual Wine Festival on Sunday 23rd July 2017, alongside seven other Hampshire vineyards which offers a unique opportunity to meet the winemakers, and try before you buy.
RAIMES English Sparkling 2014 Blanc de Noirs can be purchased through the RAIMES online shop at £29.95 and via the ever-growing list of stockists which can be found on their website.
