A Unique Dining Experience
Local produce will take centre stage this July during the month-long Hampshire Food Festival. Diners will have a rare opportunity to indulge in locally sourced meals served in settings such as vineyards and farmshops as the trend for pop-up restaurants goes from strength to strength.
Adam Keith Savage, owner and head chef at the pop-up restaurant Savage Kitchen is holding special events to celebrate the Hampshire Food Festival. Adam has a strong passion for serving only ingredients from the best local artisan producers. Having worked in commercial kitchens, farms and butchers he has been exposed to all stages of the food chain.
“My experience has taught me about the beauty and magic of food and I have been fortunate to travel around the world. I have learnt that all aspects of food production are intrinsically linked and cannot exist independently. I am able to appreciate that quality begins with the farmer or producer and that with a better understanding of the product, for example less popular cuts of meat, quality needn’t cost the earth.”
Savage Kitchen was set up in 2014 and is based in Winchester. It already has a loyal following with its regular pop-up nights in the Toscanaccio Wine Shop on Parchment Street selling out quickly. To celebrate the Hampshire Food Festival Adam and his team will take their unique style of dining to two new venues, Aubrey Farm in Keyhaven and Cottonworth Vineyard near Andover.
This is a rare chance for diners to experience the locally sourced meal in the stunning surroundings from which they were grown. Adam is specific about the experience he wants to give his guests:
“I want to provide every one of our guests with a dining experience that is honest and sincere, from the heart. To nourish them with a direction of flavours that are fresh, natural and without frills. I love the spontaneity and real interaction that we have with both our suppliers and customers.”
Restaurants will be popping up at farm shops, vineyards and bed and breakfasts during July’s Hampshire Food Festival.
