12 More Hampshire Food Festival Days to Enjoy!
One of the UK’s largest food festivals, the Hampshire Food Festival continues to offer a superb line up of events for food lovers. Now just over three weeks in, there are still over 30 events set to take place over the remaining 12 days of the festival.
Food lovers have been treated to demos from top chefs, artisan markets, pop-up restaurants, wine festivals, brewery and vineyard tours, tastings and festival menus, farm tours and cookery classes. Many events have been sell outs and whilst the weather has been mostly good even the wet weather didn’t deter the wine lovers with over 700 people turning out for the Vineyards of Hampshire Wine Festival.
This Thursday local producers will be offering tastings and selling their products during the much anticipated match between Hampshire and Somerset at The Ageas Bowl. Visit www.ageasbowl.com.
Events still to take place as part of the award-winning Hampshire Food Festival include the Summer Fayre on The Watercress Line on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July, 9.30am-5pm. Learn about the historic Watercress Line including how it was used to transport watercress from Hampshire to London. Local food and craft stalls will be positioned at Ropley Station. The festival will come to a close with two large events. The New Forest and Hampshire County Show on the 28th, 29th and 30th July held at New Park in Brockenhurst. Tickets can be bought in advance at newforestshow.co.uk.
On Wednesday 29th July producers will be offering tastings of their food and drink in the Marwell Zoo Gift Shop, special offers will be available on the day. Normal zoo entry applies, 11am-4pm, www.marwell.org.uk/taste.
In Basingstoke on Sunday 2nd August, Taste at the Top of Town will feature a food theatre with demonstrations from chefs including Jean Christophe Novelli and winner of Great British Menu, James Durrant from 10am, www.topofthetown.org.
