Worthy Earth aims to feed the local community with nourishing food with minimal food miles.
Food security is a fickle thing, when taking into account the humongous supply chain that we have when buying food from the Continent, or further afield. If people can buy our vegetables directly from the nearby village, or from wider Hampshire at large, we can ensure only one link in the supply chain: between the grower and customer. This will enable a greater level of autonomy for both grower and consumer, with additional health benefits as well as ecological steps in the right direction.
In the long term, we have a vision of creating educational sessions for local students to learn about market gardening, and to hold “field to fork” events with a food truck or such like using produce from our own plot alongside ingredients from other local producers.Visit Website
