Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers

Lyburn Farm offers a variety of handmade cheeses, all made on the farm using pasteurised milk from their own herd of pedigree cows.

There are six cheeses in total and although they are pressed, these artisan cheeses are, in general, a softer and a more Continental type of cheese than Cheddar.

The two most popular are ‘Old Winchester’ - an 18-month plus cheese made with a vegetarian rennet and often used as a substitute for Parmesan on vegetarian dishes - and Stoney Cross, a much younger, softer cheese with earthy tones, more suited to the cheeseboard.
