Lyburn Farmhouse Cheesemakers

Lyburn Farm offers a variety of handmade cheeses, all made on the farm using pasteurised milk from their own herd of pedigree cows.

There are 6 cheeses in total and although they are pressed, these artisan cheeses are, in general, a softer and a more Continental type of cheese than Cheddar.

The 2 most popular are ‘Old Winchester’ - an 18-month plus cheese made with a vegetarian rennet and is often used as a substitute for Parmesan on vegetarian dishes - and Stoney Cross, a much younger, softer cheese with earthy tones, more suited to the cheeseboard.
