What's Cooking at SOCAL's BBQ Barn?

With lockdown easing and barbecuing in the garden allowed for restricted numbers (in accordance with government guidelines), Hampshire Fare are delighted to welcome SOCAL, the Calor gas distributors and appliance specialists as Corporate Partners.

Charles Ramseyer, Managing Director, SOCAL, said: “We are very excited about our new Corporate Partnership with Hampshire Fare and we are already developing a strong, mutually supportive working relationship. We are a well-established supplier and distributor in the leisure sector, and our showroom has grown to become the South’s go-to outdoor leisure destination for a large range of premium barbecues, fire pits and accessories.

“Working with Hampshire Fare’s members, including producers, chefs and hospitality venues, puts us in front of a new market. We look forward to welcoming members to our BBQ Barn. At our outdoor kitchen venue we can introduce members to our selection of premium barbecues and demonstrate the art of barbecue, providing inspiration on grilling, searing, smoking, roasting and baking produce.

“We think this is very timely for hospitality venues who may be looking at new working practices for staff and new ways of accommodating customers in outdoor spaces. Outdoor cooking may provide alternative opportunities for them.”

Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager, Hampshire Fare, added: “We are hugely enthusiastic about this new Corporate Partnership which will be of significant benefit to our members in the food and drink industry as this agreement includes access to cooking and skills demonstrations.”

“We are aware that this Corporate Partnership has been agreed at a very difficult time for the hospitality industry. However, our role at Hampshire Fare is to work with our Partners to find ways to support our food and drink industry, particularly as this sector is of immense value to the local economy. In addition, socialising, food and drink, and eating well and healthily plays a significant role with regard to people’s wellbeing. Perhaps through SOCAL, outdoor cooking and entertaining will provide opportunities for our members and the public to enjoy small scale outdoor socialising for friends and families.”

Tracy Nash concluded: “I would like to add that at Hampshire Fare we are extremely appreciative of all our Corporate Partners, including SOCAL. Without them Hampshire Fare would not be able to support local producers and contribute to a sustainable future for the county's food and farming industry to the same degree of success that it currently achieves.”
