Summerdown has raised the bar with the addition of three new peppermint chocolate bars to its award-winning range. Summerdown is the only UK mint chocolate producer to grow and distil their own peppermint oil, which plays a starring role in everything they make.
The new additions pair Summerdown's prized single estate peppermint with the finest single origin Colombian cocoa. They include a rich peppermint dark chocolate with a punchy edge; a peppermint dark chocolate crisp bar with crunchy sugar crystals; and a peppermint milk chocolate bar, a smooth creamy chocolate with a cool finish. In addition, the dark chocolate bars are also suitable for vegans and the packaging is completely compostable as part of Summerdown’s commitment to sustainability.
Summerdown’s Jo Colman said: “Our Black Mitcham peppermint is very special. It’s a pure unblended English variety that has a refined and distinctive taste. For years the Colmans have always been drawn to robust, piercing flavours. For years it was mustard, but 25 years ago they turned they tastes to mint. Following years of research, advice and a lot of patience, they now grow over 100 acres of English peppermint, transforming it into the world’s purest peppermint oil, and now becoming known as ‘The Peppermint People’.
