For perfect pies and sizzling sausages, seek out this year’s award winners from Hampshire Fare’s Great Hampshire Sausage & Pie Competition 2020. To make it easier to spot them, Hampshire Fare has introduced new Gold, Silver and Bronze stamps for the award winners – signs of success.
This year’s awards ceremony took place at the beginning of March at the Holiday Inn, Winchester, nearly two weeks before lockdown. It seems like a lifetime ago, so much has happened to challenge us all since then. So winners had little thought of celebrating as they shifted business strategies to supporting and supplying their local communities rather than shouting about their own success.
Now as the weather cools and thoughts turn to warming platefuls of comfort food, Hampshire Fare are launching these new stamps. This allows our wonderful pie-makers and sausage producers to highlight their achievements. It also provides an easy way for customers to spot these local award-winners and discover some new tasty sausages and pies. You just may find one or two new family favourites.
Hampshire Fare has always enjoyed running this high-profile, highly regarded and much enjoyed competition, and fully intends running the Great Hampshire Sausage & Pie Competition in future. The team are already assessing how to deliver this competition in 2021, with judges’ safety paramount.
