The Hampshire Hog Goes to Christmas Market

The Hampshire Hog Goes to Christmas Market

For the very first time Hampshire Fare is taking over a chalet at Winchester Cathedral’s Christmas Market; the team celebrated by taking to the ice.

Visitors can 'shop local' by looking for the sign of the Hampshire Hog to find the chalet. On display from Saturday, 7th December, to Sunday, 22nd December, will be an ever-changing selection of produce from 14 Hampshire Fare members - so there will be something new to discover, taste and buy each day. Producers include Beaulieu Chocolates, ChalkStream for Test Valley smoked trout and smoked trout pâté, and infused oils and dressings from Cold Pressed Oil (Rosemary & Garlic Infused Oil is perfect for roasties). Drinks producers will include Hill Farm Juice, craft ales from Flack Manor, Island Brewery and Test Brewing, and spirits from Conker Spirit, Corner 53, Dampney’s Remarkable Drinks, Gorilla Spirts and Pothecary Gin. Finally, for a festive celebration, pick up a bottle of Black Chalk, English sparkling wine that was recently recommended by the Daily Telegraph.

Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager, Hampshire Fare says: “We are really excited to have a presence at Winchester Christmas Market for the first time. It is a great opportunity for visitors to taste and buy some truly local produce that is low on food miles and high on individuality for gifts or the Christmas table.”

For a happy Hampshire Christmas the Hampshire Fare chalet (no 59) can be found near the food quarter (towards the end of the outer edge of the inner close). It will be open 10am-8.00pm Thursday to Saturday and 10am-6.30pm Sunday to Wednesday. Visitors will also be able to pick up a free copy of Hampshire Fare’s Local Produce Guide.
