Harvest for the Community

Hampshire Fare member Harvest Fine Foods (suppliers to the hospitality industry who are currently operating a home delivery service) also work in partnership with FareShare Southern Central, based in Southampton. FareShare is the UK’s longest running food redistribution charity, helping to tackle food waste and hunger by redistributing in date and good to eat surplus from the food industry to charities and community organisations, such as food banks, night shelters and projects supporting the vulnerable and elderly.

However, during the current Covid-19 crisis, with hospitality businesses closed, FareShare’s charitable stock donations are running short. As one of FareShare’s key charitable partners Harvest Fine Foods are giving customers the opportunity to make a charitable donation to FareShare via Harvest’s online ordering process. When you place your food order, simply make a donation using one of the product codes, putting it in your shopping basket along with the rest of your order.  If you’re placing an order over the phone, just let the customer service operator know that you are placing a donation with your order.

Donations start from £1.00 (product code 51720); £5.00 (product code 17935); £10.00 (product code 286444); £25.00 (product code 27480); and £50.00 (product code 60982).

At the end of each week Harvest will supply food to the value of these donations to FareShare at cost price, ensuring they have the food they need to continue to support the vulnerable in our community. In addition, Harvest will post a weekly update via their Facebook page.

Working together in this way is to applauded.
