Chef Ainsley Harriott Visits Lavender Fields in New ITV Series
Chef and national institution Ainsley Harriott visited the Lavender Fields, filming for his ITV series, Ainsley’s Good Mood Food. Known for his cheerful disposition, Ainsley aims in the series to show how food can make you feel amazing, as it nourishes, replenishes and lifts you when you are down, and keeps you smiling when you want to party.
During the series, Ainsley takes a riotous road-trip, fuelled by his passion for the delicious produce that has made him such a happy chef, with friend and chef Joseph Dennison also taking to the road, meeting people up and down the country as they create their own version of happy, good-for-the soul food. Ainsley’s Good Mood Food is an epicurean adventure across the UK, filled with the tastiest produce in the land. Inspired by the people they meet, and food they find on their adventures, Ainsley will be whipping up fantastic dishes guaranteed to make you feel happy.
In episode 6 (aired this coming Saturday, 14th May, at 11.40am on ITV) Ainsley heads to Hampshire to take a stroll through the Lavender Fields at Hartley Park Farm, near Selborne. He finds out how versatile the fragrant flowers are and then bakes a lemon drizzle and lavender traybake cake perfect for afternoon tea.
Nick Butler of the Lavender Fields (pictured with Ainsley Harriott) comments: “It was a fun-filled morning on the farm with lots of laughs, as you can imagine with Ainsley! Ainsley and the crew were very interested to learn about how lavender is farmed and surprised to find out quite how many products were made with lavender, especially the food-related ones.
"It was a real pleasure to have Ainsley. Our visitors on the day were also delighted to see him and it was lovely watching him engage with each and every person who approached him. We would love to welcome him back again!”
