Appeal for Donations to FareShare

Appeal for Donations to FareShare

Here's an example of local independents working hard to support their local communiites. Since the start of the pandemic crisis, Southern Co-op, the independent regional co-operative, has been working with both colleagues and customers to fundraise for FareShare to support the distribution of food to charities in the south.

This has been in response to the drop in food donations that food charities have seen, across the country, since the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown measures.

Southern Co-op has already committed an impressive £50,000 to FareShare, the UK’s largest hunger fighting charity, and are now asking customers and members if they can help to make an even bigger impact in the local community by donating to FareShare.

You can text ‘SOUTH’ to 70490 to donate £5 to FareShare - texts cost £5 plus your standard network rate (T&Cs apply).

You can donate in store. Make your donation at the till when shopping in Southern Co-op's stores.

Go online. You can make a donation direct to FareShare/SouthernCo-op

All donations help to support local communities by feeding those who need it most during the crisis. For every £1 donated, FareShare (registered charity number 1100051) is able to redistribute four meals. So a £5 donation represents 20 meals distributed to vulnerable people.
