Alresford Watercress Show 2022

Join Hampshire Fare and other local businesses for this family fun filled day of live entertainment and local produce. 

Alresford Watercress Show is certainly one of a kind, from their annual watercress eating competition to their many streets oozing with local producers, to live entertainment and cookery demos, this outdoor event will certainly encourage and inspire everyone. 

During the day you can experience a selection of local food, drink and craft producers, such as our very own Hampshire Fare members Hattingley Valley Wines, Folly Farm / Wheatsheaf Flour (spelt), The Watercress Company, CE Evans Butchers and greengrocer, Soles of Alresford Butchers, Meon Valley Cider, Olives Direct, Moonroast Coffee, Winchester Distillery, Cyrils Soap, River test Distillery, The Wasabi Company, New Forest Tea, Dampney's Remarkable Drinks, ChalkStream, The Garlic Farm, Experience Hampshire, New Forest Shortbread and don't forget about US!!

We will be there handing out our NEW 2022 Local Produce Guide, which helps you source the very best of local in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This is a great handy bible on where you can eat that uses local ingredients on their menu, where you can buy local ingredients, where your can source specific local ingredients such as eggs, milk, bread etc. Also you can learn where to learn through various cooking schools and also what events are coming up in 2022 to watch out for.

Also during this event you can enjoy a selection of live entertainment from the cookery demo with Nutritionist Lucy Williamson and Davina Tibbetts Home Economists 'Love Watercress', also you can enjoy great chefs such as Tom Hinsley (The Greyfriars Pub, Chawton), Lesley Waters (Shaftesbury Cook School and regular guest on James Martins Saturday Morning TV), Andy McKenzie and Phil Yeomans (Lainston House), Shelina Permaloo (Master Chef Champion 2012) and Becca Hoddinott (Natural Cook Company).

For the children there is a kids zone where they can enjoy a live Punch & Judy show, learn circus skills and enjoy a Falconry display.

Other live entertainment taking place at St John's Church and on the main stage, includes local Choir and dance groups as well as Jazz bands, the local Alresford Ukulele band, blues and rhythm and Rio carnival-style performers. 

Oh and don't forget the main event of the show- the Watercress Eating Championships on the main stage!

This event is free to attend but there will be parking charges at local car parks, there will also be road closures on the day so please check before travelling.
