Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

In 1953 the distinguished plantsman, Sir Harold Hillier established the Gardens and Arboretum. Over many years he assembled a remarkable collection bringing together the most comprehensive collection of trees, shrubs and hardy plants in the UK.

Today, the award-winning Hillier Gardens are under the sole trusteeship of Hampshire County Council who runs it as a charity under the remit of horticulture, conservation, education and recreation.

The 180-acres offer much to see - from the seasonal planting displays, giant bamboo wind chimes, Ghurkha memorial garden and hydrangea walk to the bog garden, tea rooms and visitor pavilion… and so much more!
