The Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition 2018 is launched.

The Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition will return on Valentine's Day 2018 at Eastleigh College. The popular competition has new rules and guidelines and will celebrate all that there is to love about Hampshire butchers.
The competition is open to all Hampshire butchers and producers and is a great opportunity to showcase the meaty talent in the county. Some of the categories include Traditional Pork Sausage, Hampshire Sausage, Cold-eating Pie, Charcuterie, Young Sausage Maker and Speciality Sausage.
All entries are judged by a panel of experts against strict criteria including texture and flavour. The competition rewards the best in each category and a Supreme Champion is chosen to go on to the Champion of Champions national competition.
Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager of Hampshire Fare commented: “We urge all local butchers to get involved in this competition. It is a chance for us to put local butchers and producers centre stage. We want to shout about the excellent quality of meat available from independent retailers and encourage people to make shopping at their local butchers a regular event.”
