What a difference a Moonroast coffee makes

Moonroast Coffee has been roasting coffee in a barn in rural Hampshire since 2014 when Fran Bradshaw opened his roastery in the heart of the delightfully rural Candover Valley. It was the culmination of a passion for coffee that began over 100 years ago and which has been in his family ever since. And it’s a passion that’s shared by Chococo Winchester.

Chococo started using Moonroast’s Espresso Blend No1 in January 2015. Since establishing the relationship Chococo has seen an increase of 200 cups of coffee per week and repeat custom from their café customers.  And now it has inspired a new chocolate bar.

Libby Hayes, Manager at Chococo Winchester is delighted with the outcome “Fran and his team at Moonroast have been fantastic to work with, offering initial coffee tasting in the store to barista training on site, collaborating on new grinders, ongoing advice and knowledge to the team in store and at the roastery.”

Moonroast and Chococo’s latest collaboration, on a delicious new chocolate bar, will appeal to all coffee and chocolate lovers. Made with Chococo’s 43%?Venezuelan milk chocolate it has Moonroast’s espresso beans roughly crushed into it. Taster bars are available from January 14th at Chococo Winchester.

Fran added: “We’re doing something different to many other coffee brands which is quite difficult to put into a few words. We spend a lot of time developing the roast and flavour profiles and extraction recipes for our coffee so we’re delighted Chococo and its customers appreciate its great taste. As a locally based roaster that hand roasts all its coffee in Hampshire we would love to see more Hampshire based cafés and restaurants serving Moonroast coffee. An increase in sales of 200 cups per week and repeat custom speaks for itself.”

Fran Bradshaw, the fourth generation of Bradshaws to be involved in the coffee trade, started roasting coffee by the light of the moon hence the name, Moonroast. Fran has created an artisan roastery making small batch, slow roasted coffee with beans ethically sourced from the best smallholders in the world. Great care is taken to create blends and craft single origin coffees, each with their own roasting and flavour profile for retail as well as wholesale. All our beans are blended after roasting.
