Taste your way around the New Forest and Hampshire County Show

Lovers of Hampshire’s delicious local food and drink are in for a treat at this week’s New Forest and Hampshire County Show.

Visitors to the show held at New Park, Brockenhurst will find almost 30 local producers offering tastings and selling their products. From pies to cheese, beer to gin, juice to fresh meat there will be something to suit all tastes.

The Local Food and Farming Area is co-ordinated by the New Forest Marque and includes fellow local food specialists Hampshire Fare and Hampshire Farmers' Markets.  The county food group, Hampshire Fare, will be handing out free copies of the Local Produce Guide. You can also enter competitions including one to win a Le Creuset casserole. Find out more about Hampshire’s thriving local food scene and chat to producers themselves. Children can take on the hunt the hog challenge and create their own funky ‘Vegi-dude’.

Top local chefs will be showing their skills in the cookery theatre with appearances from James Golding from THE PIG Hotel, Phil Yeomans from Marwell Hotel, Andy MacKenzie from Exclusive Chefs Academy and Mark Price from River Cottage Canteen and many more.

The New Forest Show takes place on the 28th, 29th and 30th July and for the first time the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment will showcase their dynamic Musical Ride in the Main Ring. For more information and tickets visit www.newforestshow.co.uk.
