Taste local: Punter Ale from Upham Brewery

Taste local: Punter Ale from Upham Brewery

National Cask Ale Week (27 Sept-6 Oct) is a perfect excuse to try some of the wonderful local ales available in Hampshire.

Our taste local spotlight this month falls on the malty Punter ale from Upham Brewery. This ale has an earthy richness with hints of syrup and toasted grain and is brewed not far from Winchester on a seventeenth century farmstead.

Upham's cask ales are pulled in many local pubs. A full list of stockists can be found on their website. You can also buy by the box, firkin or bottle directly from the brewery, more details on their website. Shops including selected The Southern Co-operative Stores and Majestic also stock their bottled beers.
