Open Farm Sunday

Come rain or shine this weekend will see farms across the country open their gates to the public to celebrate Open Farm Sunday. So gather your friends and family and head out to explore the world of farming and find out the story behind your food.

Here’s a taster of some of the Hampshire farms taking part. You can also search for what’s going on where on the Open Farm Sunday website.
 

Leckford Estate The Waitrose Farm, 10am-4pm

Cows and calves at the dairy. Live milking (pm only). 
A look at mushroom production and the variety of mushrooms available.
Rapeseed oil production; growing, producing and making feed for our cattle.
Farm machinery display both old and new.
Learn about the crops grown at Leckford; the different seasons and the work of the Crops team. Learn about the type of crops used in food.
Hear about how we look after the environment and the conservation work we do on the Estate.
Guided Farm tours.
Farm walk and activities for the children.
Refreshments and food available
Pop up shop selling Leckford and local produce

Visit a working Organic Farm. Self- Guided walking Farm Trail, Tractor and Trailer Farm Tours, to see the animals, children's activities, shearing display, barbecue, drinks, ice creams and tea and cakes available to purchase.

Tractor and trailer rides around the farm to see our livestock including pigs, sheep, cows and calves
