Hampshire chocolate maker to judge Academy of Chocolate Awards

Kerry Witt, owner of Chocolate by Miss Witt, based in the New Forest has been asked to judge the prestigious Academy of Chocolate awards being held at Westminster Kingsway College.

The judging panel includes chocolate experts and buyers, pastry chefs, food professionals and food journalists. Kerry was invited to judge after being recognised for her exceptional chocolate making skills at last year’s award where she scooped a bronze award for Best Filled Chocolate – Caramel.

Kerry feels honoured to be invited: “I really can’t believe that I have been asked to judge the awards. They are so well-respected and it means a great deal to me to be asked to judge some of the world’s best chocolate. It’s a real compliment to my palette!”

Kerry’s own chocolates are made using a unique ganache incorporating specialist chocolate and Hildon Water rather than any milk or cream. This results in clear and light chocolate with an exceptional texture and flavour. Kerry also incorporates fruity flavours into her chocolates using locally sourced and made Naked Jam.

The beautifully packaged chocolates are available to buy from The Forage Deli in Lyndhurst and Maison Cuisine in Lymington. You can also buy Kerry’s chocolates from the maker herself every Saturday at Lymington Market.
