Fresh Produce Market opened by the Mayor

The Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Dorothy Baverstock, found herself unable to resist the lovely food on offer when she opened the first Fresh Produce Market held at the Fairground Craft & Design Centre at Weyhill on Wednesday 6th March.

Speaking to Beth Coin of Parsonage Farm as she purchased some of their sausages, the mayor said that as a farmer's daughter in Yorkshire she had grown up eating home produced sausages and was delighted to meet some of the local producers in the Test Valley area still making them. Parsonage Farm was recently highly commended as a local food producer by the Countryside Alliance and will be bringing their award winning produce to each market.

The Fresh Produce Market is held on the first and third Wednesday of the month, at the Fairground Craft & Design Centre from 10am to 2pm. Producers within a 20 mile radius of Weyhill interested in becoming involved in the market should contact info@fairgroundcraft.co.uk
