British Food Fortnight - Emsworth

British Food Fortnight - Emsworth

British Food Fortnight is the biggest annual, national celebration of British food and drink. This year it will be held from Saturday 19th September to Sunday 4th October.

Emsworth is once again taking part in British Food Fortnight having been crowned winners of last year’s Harvest Heroes competition in the Daily Telegraph. They were chosen as the winners by judges including The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; David Wood, Group Managing Director, Health & Wellness Division, Tesco; Raymond Blanc; Adam Henson and Blue Peter Gardener Chris Collins.

This organisers behind Emsworth’s successful events during last year’s British Food Fortnight are determined to impress again. British Food Fortnight is a wonderful opportunity for Emsworth to showcase its food heritage and it’s a chance for the community to come together to celebrate itself through food.

This year there are three themes; education, community and celebration. Healthy eating will be promoted in schools via Great British Menu College Lunches. There will be Apple Pressing Day, open air Harvest Festival, food mountain for the Beacon Food Bank. Five markets, tastings, specially created menus and entertainment will ensure there is plenty to celebrate.
