James' passion for quality food started on leaving school going to work for Peter Hillier at Lewry's butchers Botley learning the basic skills of preparation and customer service from a Master.
Moving on after several years James went to Sainsbury's experiencing a large retail environment this time focusing on the fruit and vegetable department. When researching for Go the Whole Hog of Botley pork produced locally James found Westlands Farm Wickham who have free range pigs of the quality and history he was looking for. It wasn't long before James made the move to work within the butchery department at Westlands.
There are a wealth of exceptional producers in Hampshire and bordering counties whose creations win accolades within the industry.
